Salisbury District Hospital walk and recording survey

Saturday 22 June 2024
15:00 to 17:00

A gentle walk around the grounds of Salisbury District Hospital, SP2 8BJ, led by James Macpherson who has been recording wildlife on this site for many years (over 400 species recorded to date).  Bee orchids should be abundant, and we hope to see many other wild flowers and some insects.  Start from The Green at the centre of the site (by Entrance B) at 1500; duration approx. 2 hours, mostly on level ground but may also explore nearby bridleways if time permits.  Toilets and cafes available in Hospital Main Entrance and Nunton Entrance.  The Salisbury Reds R1 bus runs half-hourly and stops at The Green, Nunton and Main Entrances.  Car parking is in the visitors' Car Park 8 at the rear of the site; if planning to drive, please provide your car registration number to James in advance so that he can arrange for an exemption from parking fees.
